In Laughing Color: For Queerky Folk Who Considered the Mic When Comedy Central Wasn't Enuf
In Laughing Color (ILC) puts "life affirming" stand-up and storytelling by queer comics of color on center stage.
On Nov. 5 and Nov. 6, ILC debuts five new comedians, who have workshopped their material for six weeks under close comedic tutelage.
Plus we will welcome a few ILC alumni performers, along with well-known funny folk: Morgan Givens, featured artist on November 5, and Charity Blackwell, featured artist on November 6. And of course, our incredible host & ILC workshop instructor, Chelsea Shorte!
Join us for 2 nights as fierce as "The Fly Girls" and as refreshing as Ntozake Shange's choreopoem! Very limited tickets will be available at the door ($15).

LIFE-AFFIRMING COMEDY?
"Life affirming comedy" is more creative than tropes about racial and gender differences. Much better than mean-spirited ridicule of bodies or desires. Much funnier than making light of violence in relationships, at work, or by the state. ILC don't play that! We like our art--our lives, our ideas, our politics--y'know, funny stuff for everybody.
