Scaregrounds Slaughterhouse
The Timoniac, a homicidal clown who has escaped police custody is wanted in 10 states for multiple murders, works as a clown for the traveling carnival. The Timoniac and his minions have taken up residence in the abandoned slaughterhouse in Hampden where they kidnap unsuspecting teenagers, torture and kill them then grind them up into Corn Dogs that they sell at the Carnival.
The Scareground's team brings together skillful make-up artists, special effects designers, and a host of seasoned actors to make this an immersive and fun experience sure to leave everyone chilled to the bone. They are enlisting the help of over 100 volunteers from the community including students from Towson University to work as actors, makeup artists, backstage crew, construction crew and ticket takers.
The founders of the Scareground's brand, Marianne Wittelsberger and Steve Bauer, have produced haunted houses for charity for 5 years running. They have raised money and awareness for such organizations as United Cerebral Palsy, The American Cancer Society, the Lutherville Volunteer Fire
Department and the Lutherville Community Association.This year's proceeds will benefit the Hampden Family Center.
The Hampden Family Center serves over 2,500 individuals annually and offers after school and summer enrichment programs and individual tutoring programs; Adult Basic Education (ABE) and GED preparation classes; exercise classes and nutritious meals for seniors; health fairs, free flu shots, and preventative health screenings; and assistance with connecting families to public benefits including food stamps, utility assistance, and WIC (Women, Infants, and Children). Their outreach efforts for children and families include distributing backpacks with free school supplies, Thanksgiving and Easter baskets, winter coats, and toys during winter holidays.
