!BAMM! 2016
For 32 years, Composers, Inc. has been dedicated to presenting new American music. For its season finale, !BAMM! focuses on the vibrant local new music community. The third installment of Bay Area Modern Music features composers, performers, and ensembles from the San Francisco Bay Area. The sensational Friction Quartet will premiere two new pieces written for them; Smear Music by Taylor Joshua Rankin and a new work by Brian Baumbusch, winner of the inaugural Matthew Paul Finnigan Award. Members of the quartet will also perform Max Stoffregen's poignant Coyote Plan. Theatrical trio Areon Flutes will premiere a new work written by Ryan Brown. The premiere of Howard Hersh's Juke will feature renowned percussionist Jack Van Geem of the San Francisco Symphony. Also to be included in this evening of premieres will be the winner of the 2016 !BAMM! Student Composers Competition.
Tickets are available at the door 30 minutes prior to the concert.
