Town Hall on Climate Change: Creating Our Future
Get inspired, learn from experts, and share your ideas with other Sacramento region residents about what we can do to respond to climate change.
Help us to freeze the fossil fuel industry, demand a better transportation system, support green jobs and a fairer economy, and create the 100% renewable Sacramento we know we need.
Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. with Keynote address at 9:30 a.m. by award-winning writer, Kim Stanley Robinson. Get inspired by state and local leaders in the climate action movement. Meet your neighbors and other community members who share your concerns. Learn about lots of local organizations working to stop and reverse global warming.
Join with fellow activists as we plan campaigns to help the Sacramento region become a Climate Leader in the following workgroups: 1. Model Sacramento: What a 100% Renewable and Resilient Sacramento Looks Like 2. Keep It In The Ground: Stop Fossil Fuel Extraction 3. Ecologically-Sound and Fair Economies for All 4. It's Our Right of Way: Transportation 5. The Future: Student & Youth Power
8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Sacramento City College Student Center At the corner of Freeport Blvd. and Sutterville Road
Registration fees include lunch, and a sliding fee is suggested, please pay what you can afford from $20 to $50 at the door.
