The conspiracy in Influence originates in a women's alcove. Ms. Solska and Ms. Malicka are discussing Poland's welfare and arguing over a memento belonging to one of the "great Poles," the only object that can change the course of history and save the hero of the film. It is a very particular time in history: the Greater Poland (Wielkopolska) Uprising is approaching, which, in the end, will turn out to be the only victorious rebellion in the nation's history. Besides military action and the mobilization of troops on both sides of the barricades, the struggle for freedom and independence in Barczyk's film also takes place in the esoteric, spiritual sphere. With their honor at stake, as well as the independence of an oppressed nation, two powerful telepaths-Dr. Abuse and Rudolf Funk-decide to duel. Later, their "battlefield" puts an idea in the mind of Ignacy Jan Paderewski, who is trying to return to the motherland. Łukasz Barczyk's Influence is a cinematic attempt to reconcile so-called Great History with elements of illusion and the fictions that were strictly dependent on the imagination of the era.
Konspiracja w Hiszpance ma swoje początki w damskiej alkowie. Pani Solska i pani Malicka konwersują o dobru ojczyzny, spierając się o pewną pamiątkę po jednym z wielkich Polaków". Tylko dzięki temu bibelotowi można zmienić bieg historii i uratować bohatera. Moment jest bardzo szczególny. Zbliża się bowiem powstanie wielkopolskie, które koniec końców było jedynym zwycięskim zrywem narodowym. W filmie Barczyka walka o wolność rozgrywa się również w sferze ezoterycznej, spirytualistycznej. Do pojedynku, w którym stawką jest oczywiście honor, ale i niepodległość uciskanego narodu, staje dwóch potężnych telepatów: dr Abuse i Rudolf Funk. Przez jakiś czas będą walczyć o umysł Ignacego Jana Paderewskiego, który właśnie próbuje wrócić do ojczyzny. Hiszpanka Łukasz Barczyka stanowi filmową próbę pogodzenia tzw. wielkiej historii" z elementami iluzji i fikcji, które miały być powiązane z wyobrażeniami tamtej epoki.
