Gruesome Playground Injuries
Remember that night you stayed out until the sun came up, sitting on the jungle gym, talking to that girl/guy? Does each one of your scars have a backstory?Physical and Emotional. What happens when two people keep missing each other? This is the story we want to tell. Rajiv Joseph's "Gruesome Playground Injuries" explores those pivotal moments in life that can change everything. We are VERY excited to be putting together a production at DeSotelle Studios, running from the end of October through the end of November.
Jes Bedwinek (Kayleen) is an actor and comedian recently seen in It's a Fine Day at HB Studios. NYC: Lindsay Joelle's Achilles & The River (Reading- MTC), Hermione in The Winter's Tale, Allan Staples' No Way Home (NSD), Blood Red Roses (CityShow), Monster Party (TinyRhino Festival), Rise of the Nothing Man (NYU Reading). Regional: Olivia in Twelfth Night (Oberlin Summer Theatre Festival), The Foreigner, Spring Awakening. Jes has worked with the Moscow Art Theatre at A.R.T. and The Second City in Chicago. MFA graduate of The New School for Drama.
Joe Loper (Doug) is a graduate from The New School for Drama's MFA in Acting, where he studied under Kathryn Rossetter, Cotter Smith and Peter J. Fernandez . Recent roles include Cloten in Cymbeline, Frank in Yellow Moon and Ambrose Bierce in Jaffa Film's Rediscovering Kate Carew. Joe has traveled the world while serving in the US Air Force and has found a passion for photography and Argentine Tango. He looks forward to his breakout role on Broadway and one day working with Tom Hanks.
Celine Rosenthal (Director) is an NYU Tisch alum, Tony Nominated Producer (Leap of Faith, Seminar), and graduate of The New School for Drama's MFA Directing program. She is a founding member of Neela Theatre Project in Mumbai, Collaborating Choreographer with General Mischief, and a proud Musical Theater Factory Board Member. Her work has been seen at NYMF, New York City Center, MMAC, 54 Below, 59E59, and in the Broadway's Future Songbook Series at Lincoln Center. Recent projects include David Grieg's Yellow Moon, Bekah Brunstetter's Little Man, Lindsay Joelle's Achilles & The River, and The Crazy Ones by Zack Zadek & Alex Pototsky.
