Portland Waldorf School, Portland State University and Parent Child Preschools Organization have partnered to bring this important topic to parents, educators and policymakers in the Portland metropolitan area.
Joan Almon, co-founder of the Alliance for Childhood, will kick-off the Play Symposium with a keynote address on the critical importance of play in the young child's life.
Drawing on her years of experience as an early childhood educator and advocate, Joan will speak to the research and observations that all point towards the value of child-directed play in the early years, both as an indicator of health and as the key ingredient to later academic achievement.
We are pleased to offer 1.5 Clock Hours for this lecture. Certificates will be distributed at the close of the lecture
