The Gravity Quartet
The Gravity Quartet plays music born of the mists and mountains of the Pacific NW. Playing primarily original compositions, The Gravity Quartet is a new voice helping to define an era that is both wondrous and shocking. Their songs and melodies bring forth the re-enchantment of humanity, a place where one can rest by a friendly fire in the company of trusted friends and be renewed. The appeal of their repertoire is broad, their covers range from Puccini to Led Zeppelin and Joni Mitchell, the stunning originals weave together like a mythic tale that take the listener on a dream-like journey from which they will awaken transformed.
Cellist and composer Christine Gunn is a master of the cello, taking it into realms rarely heard. Well known for her work with bands like Trillian Green and The Walkabouts, the strains of Christine's cello can be heard on countless recordings of diverse genres including several film scores, which brings a narrative style to her compositions for the quartet.
Ingrid Ferris brings the unusual ability of playing the oboe and singing in a multitude of styles that weave, embellish and bring the voice of transcendence as well as depth of emotion to each piece. Trained in the classical and jazz idioms, Ingrid's years living in Europe bring in a broad diversity of musical experiences that support this mercurial ensemble.
Giles Arendt on guitar and Robin Toye on percussion round out The Gravity Quartet to give you a musical experience not to be missed.
