Deidre McCalla
Join us for a rare West Coast concert of a beloved Bay Area favorite!
Dubbed the "dreadlocked troubadour" by the Miami Herald, singer-songwriter Deidre McCalla captures the hearts and minds of her audiences with an endearing blend of intimately sweet vocals, deft guitar work, and powerful social commentary.
Ms Magazine (summer 2015) called Deidre McCalla's recording "Don't Doubt It" one of 25 Classic Women's Music albums. McCalla released several albums with the ground-breaking lesbian-feminist label Olivia Records and has toured extensively for decades with multiple appearances at the National Women's Music Festival, the Michigan Womyn's Music Festival, the Vancouver Folk Festival, and Carnegie Hall, as well as colleges, clubs, and coffeehouses across the U.S. She has shared the stage with a long list of music notables that includes Suzanne Vega, Tracy Chapman, Holly Near, Odetta, Cris Williamson, and Sweet Honey in the Rock.
