Creating a More Just Community: Overcoming Racism & Inequity in Madison

Speaker: Rev. David Couper

Topic: "Why Police matter, and what we can do about it"

Join us at 7 pm in the Cornelia Vilas Guild Hall (enter through the courtyard on West Washington side of building) to hear the Rev. David Couper speak.

*Rector of St. Peter's Episcopal Church in North Lake, Wisconsin

*Nationally known as a priest and poet

*Actively working for justice and forgiveness

Couper has served as Madison's chief of police from 1972 to 1993. His leadership focused on integration of the police force, and implementing more respectful methods of policing. He has prublished several volumes on policing and books of poetry.

He earned his master's degrees from the University of Minnesota and Edgewood College.
