Writers for Justice in Palestine
The event will celebrate the publication of two new books: The Blue Between Sky and Water by Susan Abulhawa, and Extraordinary Rendition: American Writers on Palestine, edited by Ru Freeman, as well as featuring Palestine solidarity activist, Michael Patrick MacDonald (author of All Souls: A Family Story From Southie).
Susan Abulhawa, a Palestinian American activist and author of the best-selling Mornings in Jenin, will read from her new novel, The Blue Between Sky and Water.
Michael Patrick MacDonald will read from his work on racism, trauma and violence.
Claire Messud, Askold Melnyczuk, and Alice Rothchild will read from their contributions to Extraordinary Rendition. In addition, Ru Freeman, Aurora Levins Morales, and Kendall Bousquet will share from their work on Israel/Palestine.
Attendees at the reception will receive complimentary signed copies of the The Blue Between Sky and Sea and Extraordinary Rendition. The books will also be for sale to those in the general audience.
This event will benefit The Palestinian Festival of Literature (Pal Fest) and Jewish Voice for Peace Boston (JVP Boston).
Directions to the event: By subway: Hope Central Church is a two-minute walk from the Green Street Station on the Orange Line. By car: Parking is free and readily available both on-street and in the parking lot opposite the church entrance.
