The first Northcoast Intercultural Skill Share Gathering will bring together experts from the Permaculture, Homesteading and Tribal communities to share their skills and experience with people from throughout the Northcoast California region.
Focusing on practical, useful knowledge, the event will take place over the weekend of Oct. 24th - 25th at Redwood Acres, Eureka and will include demonstrations and workshops in a variety of skills ranging from canning & preserving food to cheese-making to butchering an animal to starting a fire with a hand-drill. Permaculture, homesteading and tribal know-how are the focus of this event and we would like to invite you to participate and share any unique skills especially in self-reliance and sustainable living that you may want to share. Permaculture and Homesteading experts will share modern self-reliance skills and members of local Native American tribes will share ancient knowledge and demonstrate practical skills developed over thousands of years.
The 7th Annual Sustainable Living Exposition will take place concurrently and will feature leading sustainable living products and services on the California Northcoast. Alternative energy, natural landscaping, green products and handmade crafts will be featured at this event.
