The Lean Product Playbook: The Missing Manual for Lean Startup

"A great, detailed guide on how to find product-market fit and make things people will love. This book should be required reading for everybody building products."
Laura Klein, Author of UX for Lean Startups

Join us to hear product management expert and Stanford alum Dan Olsen introduce his new book, The Lean Product Playbook. He will share the top advice from his book on how to build products that customers love, as well as the story of how the book came to be.

We all know that building great products is hard and that most new products fail. The Lean Startup movement has contributed valuable ideas to increase your odds of success. However, many product teams run into challenges trying to adopt Lean principles because they lack specific guidance on what they should do and how to do it. Dan wrote The Lean Product Playbook to address this need. Dubbed "the missing manual for Lean Startup," The Lean Product Playbook is a comprehensive how-to guide that describes a step-by-step methodology for building successful products.

Dan will discuss and clarify concepts such as product-market fit, minimum viable product (MVP), the Build-Measure-Learn loop, user experience (UX) design, prototyping, and user testing.

Although product-market fit is one of the most important Lean Startup concepts, it's also the least well defined. The book starts by explaining the Product-Market Fit Pyramid: an actionable model that defines the five critical components required for product-market fit and how they relate to one another. Part II of the book describes the Lean Product Process: an iterative, easy-to-follow methodology based on the Product-Market Fit Pyramid that helps you articulate and test your key hypotheses while defining your product.

The Lean Product Playbook was the #1 new release in product management on Amazon and a bestseller in several categories: starting a business, research and development, market research, and business education.
