Community Build: Writing the Stories Through Our Bodies
This workshop series is specifically for those who are interested in expanding their knowledge of community based work within their practice.
Workshops are centered on the premise that our bodies hold deep wisdom and that each of us can create from experience based knowledge that is unique to our respective bodies.
Together, we will explore a variety of improvisation and composition methods that explore our inner senses, personal stories, and the application of these tools within diverse and marginalized community settings.
The program includes:
6 workshops 1 informal public showing that includes a peer to peer feedback session A total of 10 contact hours

Work within a group that values each individuals unique input and creativity.
Develop a basic awareness and understanding of fundamental choreographic elements.
Move and creating from your own body while finding your authentic voice.
Acquire a new set of dance making tools that lend themselves to community building.
Learn and explore within a highly structured and guided practice.
Workshops are held at 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday's and Wednesday's at Jump-Start Theater, 710 Fredericksburg Rd., San Antonio, TX 78201.

All participants are invited to present their works in progress during an informal showing and receive audience feedback on:
10/26 or 10/28
The value of this complete course is $300.
Tuition for the complete course is $150.00 per person and is limited to 12 complete course registered participants.
