Ropenspace LA
Kinksters from all over have enjoyed four years of consecutive unconference madness with the LA GrUE. Now we're taking the open space learning format and narrowing our sites on a rope-centric event. We've even brought a new friend along.
The Devil Mask Society is proud to present the first ever Ropenspace LA featuring Diamond & Murphy Blue!
ROPENSPACE LA

DESCRIPTION: Ropenspace LA is based Open Space Technology (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Open_Space_Technology), if you've been lucky enough to go to a GrUE, you know what you're in for. The day will start with an orientation and agenda setting facilitated by Murphy Blue. Once that is done, it's full steam ahead until the end of the day. Lunch magically appears at one point, but there are no scheduled "breaks" or "class times". At the end of the day the group gathers for some closure.
SKILL LEVEL:
All skill levels are welcome, but some basic rope knowledge will help you experience the event to it's fullest.
DURATION: 10 AM to 7 PM.
WHAT TO BRING: Rope, rope and more rope. Carabiners/rings, rubber mat, towel, water bottle, and snacks.
FACILITATOR BIO
Always prepared with a smile, a joke, and a length of rope, Murphy Blue has been bringing his kink knowledge and signature style wherever he could since the turn of the century. A self-claimed "American Rigger", Murphy tries to focus not just on the *hows* of tying, but the frequently forgotten *whys*. The interplay of people and energy through rope and gestures is something that should be passed along, and Murphy does his best to assist with that.
While most well known for his unique ropework, creative performances, bouncy demeanor, and intense love for Transformers, "The Blue" is also a scholar of different kinky skills, a skilled photographer, a budding writer, a practicing energy worker of multiple traditions, and a pretty darn good dancer. He is on a constant search for more information about the art of Shibari, experience different fetish environments and learn new skills. Murphy travels the country with the lovely ladies of "Team Blue", sharing insight, gaining knowledge, and saving the world, one knot at a time. He has been welcomed to speak at various events and locations, including Shibaricon, TESFest, The Society, Albany Power Exchange, Rochester Kink Society, Black Phoenix, Bound in Boston, Wicked Faire, and others.
There is a tale of him being trapped and his only chance to survive was to suspend multiple women to please a dark council. When asked about this, Murphy only smiles.
Diamond Blue is the second in command and first girl of Team Blue, and chatelaine of Harmony House. She is a Shibari performer and model, a crisis management operative and itinerant standup philosopher, and always, Samurai and partner to the incomparable Murphy Blue.
