On Wednesday, October 21, 2015, Dependency Advocacy Center (DAC) will host its fourth annual Giving Back Benefit luncheon at the historic San Jose Woman's Club in downtown San Jose. In addition to honoring this year's Distinguished Advocate and Outstanding Parent, this event is an opportunity to support DAC's innovative and holistic approach to legal advocacy for Santa Clara County's most underserved parents and children.
Founded in 2008, DAC is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization providing court appointed counsel to indigent families in Santa Clara County's Juvenile Dependency Court. Our unique multi-pronged approach employs a team of attorneys, social workers, and peer mentors to advocate for our clients who are struggling with the devastating effects of poverty, substance abuse, domestic violence, and mental health issues. DAC's goal is to promote the safe and timely reunification and preservation of these families.
Once again, we will be raffling off a number of exciting themed baskets at our event. This year, we will also feature a single item raffle for a pair of Side Line Club tickets to a 2015-16 Warriors vs. Lakers game with seats located just behind the visiting team's bench--VIP parking included! Non-attendees may purchase raffle tickets, so long as there is someone at the event designated to receive your tickets and (if you're lucky!) claim your prize.
