New England Acoustic Music Festival 2015
The New England Acoustic Music Festival is a one-day boutique music festival produced by Fat Cats Events & Marketing in partnership with the Courthouse Bar & Grille. The block party style festival features both established and emerging New England-based music artists, performing original music. The Festival takes place in the historic Antique District of Putnam, CT, often considered one of New England's best small-town destinations. In addition to the cool music, the Festival will feature food, beer and non-alcoholic beverages from the Courthouse Bar & Grille, as well as other food vendors, and a variety of local artisans selling their wares. The New England Acoustic Music Festival is an annual event and is one of the centerpieces of Putnam's thriving arts and cultural scene.
Caravan of Thieves from Bridgeport, CT headlines this year's festival and will be joined by Special Guest Sarah Potenza, a former contestant of The Voice and a Rhode Island native. Other acts on the bill include Josh Grabert (Providence, RI), Shawn Byrne, Jeff Przech and more to come...
A little about Caravan of Thieves: Driving gypsy jazz rhythms, acoustic guitars, upright bass and violin lay the foundation for mesmerizing vocal harmonies and fantastic stories. It's theatrical and humorous. It's musical and intense. It entertains, dazzles and defies classification while welcoming the spectator to join the band throughout the performance in momentary fits of claps, snaps and sing-a-longs. If Django Reinhardt, the cast of Stomp and the Beatles all had a party at Tim Burton's house, Caravan of Thieves would be the band they hired.
A little about Sarah Potenza: After spending seven years with her band Sarah & The Tall Boys, the former Rhode Island native relocated to Nashville, TN with not much more than her husband and her monster vocals. That coupled with her honest reflective songwriting quickly garnered the attention of the city's thriving music scene and she became a staple at the world renowned Bluebird Café and the globally broadcast Music City Roots program. Her appearance on Season 8 of The Voice introduced her to America making her a fan favorite across the country.
