The Mira Mesa High School Basketball Booster Club is hosting a family fun day fundraiser on September 26th in the Mira Mesa Gym. 100% of the funds raised will go to the Mira High School Basketball teams.
We will have professional instructors teaching a Zumba class in the morning and a Fierce Funk class in the afternoon.
We will also have performances by Dance & Company, and 2 crews from the Culture Shock Dance Center, the Bots and a Nationally recognized adult Hip Hop Dance Crew "Diversity District"!
There will be lots of food, a variety of vendors to shop with and activities for all ages. Come join the fun.

What is Zumba?
Zumba Fitness is a Latin-inspired cardio-dance workout that uses music and choreographed steps to form a fitness party atmosphere. Dances incorporate styles and cultures from around the world including Merengue, Bollywood and Hip Hop!
Kids 8 and younger must be accompanied by an adult!
What is Fierce FUNK Fitness?
Fierce Funk is a new, exciting dance-fitness program founded by Pepper Von, one of the most respected and creative dance-fitness practitioners. Pepper's creation combines a street style funk movement with a contemporary hip-hop feel, for an inspiring, fun and complete workout. His vision is for instructors to bring a sense of fun, empowerment, passion, energy and a philosophy of love toward others to their classes through dance and fitness movements to energizing music. The Fierce Funk culture is not just fitness and dance, it is a moving energy intended to refresh the spirit with fun, fulfillment and love so Fierce Funk participants are more healthy and happy.
What if I don't have any experience or feel like I can't dance?
You don't need any dance experience. Just come and enjoy the fun and support Mira Mesa Basketball, each song has a routine that has different steps that repeat. Each time you come it gets easier and easier. Usually by the third or fourth time you feel comfortable and are able to relax and enjoy the dance fitness workout!
What should I wear?
You can wear any type of fitness workout clothes from sweat pants, shorts, tank tops, t-shirts; anything comfortable and cool (as you will sweat a lot). As for shoes, wear cross-trainers or dance shoes - anything that will give you support. We do not recommend bare feet or sock-feet for class due to lack of support and safety concerns! We also recommend you bring a towel and water to class.
