The Emerald Gala
The Emerald Gala - Celebrating 90 Years of Service" is the theme of this elegant affair presented by the Ivy Rose Foundation and Pi Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha, Inc.  Guests  will experience an evening of cocktails, dinner and dancing at Chattanooga's historic Chattanoogan Hotel.

Black Tie Optional

Leave your parking worries with the valet.  Complimentary valet parking is provided to all ticketed guests.

6:30p:  Begin the evening with a cocktail reception in the Ballroom Foyer.  The reception will showcase one of our local youth music groups, the Jazzanooga Youth Allstars!

7:00p:  Enjoy a plated 3-course dinner in the Ballroom before joining members in a program to pay homage to and celebrate the Pi Omega chapter on 90 years of service to the Chattanooga community.   Special recognition will be given to four dynamic women who have been servant leaders through Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority for several decades.

8:00p:  Finish out the evening celebrating, socializing and dancing to the music of Sound Advice, one of Chattanooga's best party bands.


In 1908, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. became the first Greek-letter sorority for African American college educated women. Founded on the campus of Howard University in Washington, DC, AKA has grown into a force of more than 280,000 collegiate members and alumnae, constituting more than 980 chapters in 42 states, the District of Columbia, the US Virgin Islands, the Bahamas, Germany, Africa, South Korea, Japan, and Canada.

Located in Chattanooga, TN, the Pi Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc., became the first Greek-letter alumnae sorority or fraternity to be chartered in Chattanooga.  It was chartered on June 25, 1925 and, this year, is celebrating 90 years of service to the Chattanooga community.
