A Celebration of A Cappella Music with the Sounds of Pittsburgh Chorus
The Sounds of Pittsburgh Chorus is an award-winning women's a cappella chorus and member of Sweet Adelines International and has the honor of appearing at the Harmony Classic Invitational in Las Vegas NV in 2016. Under the direction of David Wallace, the 60-member women's chorus will perform a variety of music in the a cappella style.
We are pleased to include two college a cappella ensembles on our show:
The Originals are an all-male a cappella group from Carnegie Mellon University. Staying true to their name, the group aims to bring an Original perspective on a cappella to each performance. For the past three years, The Originals have competed at semifinals of the International Championship of Collegiate A Cappella. They have recently performed at the CONSOL Energy Center and released their Twenty Year Album on iTunes and Spotify. Most importantly, the group loves to create beautiful and innovative music.
Pittch Please originated from a men's alumni a cappella group comprised of Pitt graduates. After what was thought to be the group's last concert, a push from student fans and current members led the group to seek registration as a bonafide student organization. In its first year as an official student group, Pittch Please placed first in the Quarterfinal round of the International Championship of Collegiate A Cappella, making it the first Pitt group to achieve this feat. Pittch Please now provides fraternal solidarity for its members, sentimental commemorations for its alumni, and musical excellence for the Pittsburgh community.
