Baroque Organ Concertos with Strings
La Follia's director Keith Womer performs concertos for organ on the historic 1862 Holbrook Organ, with the La Follia string ensemble.

The organ is on extended loan from Harvard University and speaks into the beautiful, resonant acoustic of Redeemer Presbyterian Church. Unlike most organ installations, both the organ and the strings are close to the audience, which will make the concert both visually and acoustically immediate and very satisfying.

The Program

Handel - Organ Concerto in A major, Op. 7, no. 2
Mozart - Epistle Sonata 15 in C major, K. 328
Vivaldi - Concerto for Violin and Organ in C minor, RV 766
Haydn - Concerto in C major, Hob XVIII:10
Bach, J.C. - Rondo in F major, Op. 13, no. 2
Bach, C.P.E - Keyboard Concerto in E-flat Major, Wq. 35

The Organ

The instrument was built by Edwin L. Holbrook (18241904) of  East  Medway,  Massachusetts in 1862 and was first employed in the Universalist Church in Southbridge, Massachusetts. It was later removed by organist aficionado Barbara Owen and rebuilt and enlarged by Charles Fisk in 1966 (* indicate additions) and installed temporarily at Memorial Church at Harvard University until its transfer to Redeemer.
