The BMRA's deconstruction curriculum has been developed and reviewed by the best trainers and practitioners in the industry. This three day course is an opportunity for you to learn from their collective experience, and acquire the skills and knowledge to add deconstruction services to your company's offerings.
In a combination of site and classroom instruction, attendees will learn about:
- Conducting a site walk through (including coverage of the EPA's assessment tool)
- Estimating material recovery quantities and values
- Developing a deconstruction project bid
- Identifying markets for recovered materials
- Presenting the triple bottom line value of deconstruction services
- Jobsite safety on a deconstruction site
- Environmental hazards of deconstruction
- Specialized tools for deconstruction
- Adaptations of demolition tools for deconstruction work
- Developing a site plan, schedule, and work plan for building deconstruction
- Non-structural salvage concepts and techniques
- Full deconstruction concepts and techniques
- Material management
- Job Closeout
- Compliance with Cook County's Demolition Debris Diversion Ordinance
All attendees who complete the three day training will be eligible to complete the online "written" portion of the BMRA's Designate Deconstructor Credential.
