This is a full-day seminar. Lunch is included in the cost of the seminar. A Certificate of Attendance will be given for Professional Development credits.
About the Seminar This day long seminar focuses on critical aspects of ADHD as they relate to school and home challenges. The first session will address basic information about ADD, ADHD and Executive Functions. This will provide ten key ADHD facts, current research on the brain, role of neurotransmitters and a medication update. The second session will discuss executive function deficits that are challenging at both home and school, to include getting started, completing homework and long-term tasks, improving organization, being on-time, and addressing sleep disturbances plus intervention strategies. The third session will focus on common academic challenges such as writing essays, doing complex math and strategies to address them. Finally, tips will be given for maximizing behavioral strategies plus brainstorming tips to identify problem areas for students who are struggling in school.
We have two categories of scholarships available for this presentation. The first comes from a generous grant from the Philly Fund. Thirty scholarships are available through this grant.
In addition, a limited number of scholarships are available to teachers who cannot receive reimbursement from their school district.
The deadline for both scholarships is October 1.
