RUSSIA! World Music Series Main Concert at Elmhurst College
The Elmhurst College World Music Series kicks off its Main Concert with the theme: RUSSIA! on Saturday, Oct. 24, 2015 at 7:30 p.m. in the college's Hammerschmidt Chapel, featuring the Elmhurst Philharmonic Orchestra performing works from the Russian and French cultures.

Guest Soloists:
Ani Gogova, pianist, came to the US to complete her Doctorate of Musical Arts at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor on a full scholarship and has made her home in Chicago since 2003 when she was appointed at the Chicago College of Performing Arts at Roosevelt Universitythe youngest professor to join the world-renowned faculty of the Music Conservatory. Her dedication to education and collaboration with young musicians has led to numerous master classes, adjudication at national and international piano competitions, and teaching young pianists from all over the world at the prestigious Interlochen Arts Camp in Michigan. In the summer of 2013, Gogova joined the faculty of the Zodiac Music Academy and Festival in Valdeblore, France.
Samantha May, violinist, studied with Ilya Kaler, Paul Kantor, Stephen Rose, Alison Dalton, and Thomas Wermuth. Receiving her Master of Music degree at DePaul University, she is a member of the Illinois Philharmonic Orchestra, and she freelances in the Chicago area. She is a former member of the Civic Orchestra of Chicago, the DePaul University Symphony Orchestra, the Baroque Orchestra of the Cleveland Institute, and she served as concertmaster of the Case Western Reserve Orchestra. Her additional training in the Suzuki method and in Music Education enables her to maintain a studio of violinists, and to teach orchestra at Hawthorn Middle School South in Vernon Hills, Illinois.
