Many of us are weary of struggling to reach a soul-satisfying level of holiness and acceptance before God, and feel as if we are missing out on the abundant life of joy and freedom that Jesus promises. The Encounter makes the basic truths of Jesus' gospel so fresh and real that our hearts will be marked by a new picture of freedom, identity, and healing from God. When and where? Friday September 25, 7pm through Sunday September 27, 1pm at Fair Haven Camps in Brooks Maine.
Who is hosting this event?
The women's ministry of First Baptist Church in Pittsfield, Maine is organizing this Encounter weekend with teachers and ministers from other local churches. This will be the same basic format as the Encounter Weekends previously hosted by Imago Dei Anglican Church.
What will we be doing?
Our sessions include worship music, teaching, quiet reflection, and prayer ministry.
Can I come late or leave early?
Because each session builds on the next, we strongly suggest that you make the commitment to come and stay for the entire weekend. We understand that there are many other things calling for your attention and that it is difficult to get away. We encourage you to see it as an investment in your relationship with God that will bring refreshment and renewal to many areas of your life. It's worth it ;)
What is provided?
All Saturday meals, Sunday breakfast and lunch, and snacks throughout the weekend. You should plan on eating supper before you come on Friday night. Gluten-free options are available, and we may be able to accommodate other needs if you let us know ahead of time. We will be sleeping on bunk beds and you will need to bring your own bedding, pillow, and towels. Showers are available. Childcare is not provided.
