Entrepreneur Round table:"Mastering The Pop-Up Dinner"
Pop-up dining is all the rage in Metro Detroit. Today some of the most exciting food can be found served out of trailers, vintage air-streams and unique locations. Asian, Mexican, Caribbean, Filipino and Farm-to-table cuisine is popping up in transitory fashion, transforming the traditional dining experience in the city.
In partnership with CEED Lending, FoodLab will host a Entrepreneur Round table:"Mastering The Pop-Up Dinner". We will gather some of our top pop-up chefs to present tips on pulling off an unforgettable dining experience.
From FoodLab's collaborative dinner series at POP to underground supper clubs to venues like Revolver & Yeman St. and kitchen take-overs, we're seeing these one-of-a-kind dining experiences popping up all over Detroit! Chefs are using pop-ups to build their brand and highlight their creativity without necessarily being tied to a brick and mortar restaurant.
Come learn from chefs as they cover topics like: 1. Setting the objectives/goals of the pop-up 2. Coming up with a concept 3. Setting a budget 4. Menu planning 5. Figuring out the format
CEED Lending will share resources from access to capital to mentoring to connect food entrepreneurs with the tools needed to host a successful pop-up dinner.
This free half-day workshop will feature representatives by U.S. Small Business Administration, SCORE Detroit and the Michigan Small Business Development Centers.
