Thursday, October 29 join the Rotary Club of Jersey City at Maritime Parc, Jersey City, NJ to honor five individuals that mirror the 5 pillars of Rotary service. 6pm Cocktail reception. 7-11pm Dinner and Awards. Full bar, DJ and dancing throughout the evening. $135 pp. Honorees are:
Service to Rotary: Dr. Howard Parish PhD, Retired Professor/Chair, Department of Geosciences at New Jersey City University
Service to Community: MaryJo Trusso-Sabbers, Teacher, Dickinson High School
Service to Vocations: Dr. Eugene Cornacchia, President, Saint Peter's University
International Service: Dr. Rolande Hodel PhD, Founder/President, AIDSfreeAFRICA
Service to Youth: Veronica Park, Board Member, Jersey City Youth Foundation
Rotary is one of the oldest service organizations in the world. Our motto is "Service above Self." Rotary members unite at home and across the globe to put our experience and knowledge to work tackling our most pressing challenges. We focus our efforts in six areas: promoting peace, preventing diseases, providing access to clean water and sanitation, enhancing maternal and child health, improving basic education and literacy, and helping communities develop.
We are especially dedicated to ending polio in our lifetimes, with the END POLIO NOW campaign. Rotary members have persevered in this fight since 1979 and have now helped eradicate polio in all but two countries worldwide.
When you give to Rotary, you support the work we do in your community and around the world. We are a responsible organization that uses nearly 90% of our funding for program expenses.
