Set One: 10 minutes - New Composition - Theme and Variations for Piano by David Haney David Haney studied composition in Portland, OR with Tomas Svoboda. He has recorded over 20 albums on CIMP, CADENCE, and SLAM, and toured with some of the greatest improvisers including Andrew Cyrille; Han Bennink, Gerry Hemingway, Bernard Purdie, Roswell Rudd, John Tchicai, Julian Priester, Roy Campbell, Buell Neidlinger and many others.

Set Two: 30 minutes Headline act: Art Resnick;
Art Resnick (b. Mar 20, 1941 in Minneapolis, MN), a prolific composer, will be performing mostly original pieces and is known for his lyrical style and unusual but accessible compositions. He has toured and recorded with many jazz luminaries such as James Moody, Freddie Hubbard, Papa John Creach, Nat Adderly, Benny Golson, Bobby Shew, Gary Bartz and Charles McPherson to name a few. He has also recorded albums featuring his own music in trio and quartet formats including the recording of "Jungleopolis" which earned 5 stars in "Downbeat " magazine. His latest release (2013) was a trio CD named 1,2,3 containing solo, duo, and trio performances.

Set Three: 30 minutes, Improvised Set with Art Resnick, Andre St. James, John Gross, Doug Haning, Marie Black, and special guests Jeremy Shaskus and Nadya Kadrevis.
Set Four: 74 minutes, Silent Film/Improvised Music August 6th presenting "The Wanderer" a feature film made in 2007 about love and loss; film is not silent but will be only viewed and not heard during a 74 minute musical interpolation.

New works by composers, headline acts, and an improvisers set make up this series that will simply blow your mind!
Cadence Festival of the Unknown goes beyond Jazz to reach into the rich stores of creative musical minds who have yet to be fully appreciated by the mainstream. World-class musicians will be invited to come co-create an evening of fun, mystery, excitement and collaboration.
