"La Vie Parisienne" Concert September 27th
3:00pm, Sundin Music Hall Hamline University, St. Paul All Seats General Admission Free Parking & No Online Fees!
We begin our trip to Paris on the road with Mozart: this lyrical violin sonata was written as he travelled on tour from Vienna to Paris. We continue with Faure's only string quartet, the last piece he wrote at the end of his life. It is atmospheric, deep, and soothing, a truly glorious work. Finally, we present Parisian composer Adolphe Blanc's Septet, inspired by the Beethoven Septet but turning toward the full Romanticism of his contemporary Johannes Brahms.
Program:
Sonata in E Minor for Piano and Violin, K304 Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart
String Quartet, Op. 121 Gabriel Fauré
Septet Adolphe Blanc
