BLUES AND JAZZ CONCERT WITH THE HEATHER PIERSON TRIO
Heather Pierson is an award winning pianist, multi-genre singer/songwriter, arranger, bandleader and performer. From New Orleans style jazz and blues to rousing Americana and poignant folk narratives, her memorable, intimate and cathartic live performances move seamlessly and effortlessly from one style to the next.

In November 2014, she released her eighth studio recording, "Motherless Child." Recorded in rural Maine on an 1898 Steinway Model A in front of a live in studio audience. 2014 also saw the emergence of the Heather Pierson Acoustic Trio, featuring Shawn Nadeau on upright bass and Davy Sturtevant on guitar, mandolin, dobro, fiddle and cornet. Originally hailing from Erie, Pennsylvania, Davy Sturtevant is a veteran touring artist, producer, engineer, songwriter and performer who now makes his home in Lovell. New Hampshire native Shawn Nadeau brings a rock solid thump and nearly two decades of performing experience to the trio, informed by a wide spectrum of unique rhythmic and melodic sensibilities ranging from rockabilly to reggae to jazz. In their able hands, these three veteran musicians have catapulted Pierson's live performances of her deep well of Americana originals folk, jazz, blues with intricate instrumental arrangements and stirring three part vocal harmonies. The trio has recently released their debut EP, "Still She Will Fly."

Throughout her career, her eclectic skill set continues to propel her onto concert hall stages and into barrooms, coffeehouses, resort hotels, living rooms and churches. Her nearly non-stop performance schedule (with more than 200 shows a year) speaks of her tireless work ethic and endless devotion to her crafts. Defying genre and classification and yet fully embracing all musical styles, Pierson is an artist who speaks the language of music in as many dialects as her abilities will allow. Her life's work, she says, is to share her love of music and of life with others one song, one heart, one mind at a time.

Performance at Deertrees in Harrison is Tuesday, August 18 at 7:30 PM. Doors open at 7:00 PM. Tickets cost $20 for General Seating Admission. Advance ticket reservations are recommended by calling Deertrees' Box Office 207.583.6747 or order online www.brownpapertickets.com.

Keeping the talent decidedly 'local', Heather, Shaun, and Davy will take you on a musical journey where you will encounter the genres of folk, jazz, and blues throughout the night at the theatre. We are so excited to have them at Deertrees for the first time (but suspect not the only time!)
