Agile & Scrum Fundamentals 1-Day Training from FreeStandingAgility.com - November
This one-day class is designed to provide you with a rapid foundation in the values, benefits, and practices of Agile and Scrum. After completing this class, you'll have a solid understanding of what "doing Agile" or "adopting Scrum" really means and be ready to move forward with Scrum in your organization. If you already do Scrum and need to spin up more teams or on-board new employees quickly, this is the class for you.

Here's a quick list of the topics the class covers:

- Comparing traditional approaches and Agile approaches
- Conducting iterative planning and development with Scrum, Kanban, and XP
- Understanding the roles, events, artifacts, and rules of Scrum
- Creating, ordering, and grooming the product backlog
- Writing, slicing, and sizing user stories
- Working with a Definition of Ready (DoR) and a Definition of Done (DoD)
- Planning and tracking releases and sprints
- Visualizing progress with taskboards, burndowns, and burnups
- Estimating with teams using planning poker and affinity techniques
- Understanding team velocity and role metrics
- Conducting effective standups, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and retrospectives

Why a one-day class?

It's simple. The goal is to impart the essentials of Agile and Scrum to each participant in the shortest amount of time using an active classroom with simulations and interactive team learning exercises.

Who should attend?

With rich, useful content, a single day commitment, and a low price, the class is great for both individuals and teams. Individuals quickly gain the knowledge they need to broaden their skills and make themselves more marketable. Who can't spare a day for that.

As for teams, the class delivers even more value by making it easy to afford sending team members together and compounding the learning they bring back to their companies. Compare that to sending a single person to a two-day class for $1500 and hoping that they'll be able to share what they learned to others.

Registration/Cancellation/Refund Policy:

If you registered for a class and need to cancel, you may transfer the registration to another person at no cost. Simply reach out to us at Info@FreeStandingAgility.com and let us know who will be attending in your place.

If you registered for a class, need to cancel, and cannot transfer the ticket to another person, the following policies will be in effect:

1. If you notify us in advance of 7 business days of the class that you need to cancel, you WILL be eligible for a refund for the full price of the class OR you can ask to be moved to a future class date at no extra cost. Refunds will be processed immediately, but may take 7-10 days to show on your credit card statement depending on your card provider's policy.

2. If you notify us within 7 business days of the class that you need to cancel, you WILL NOT be eligible for a refund of the full price of the class and you will need to pay a $72.40 rescheduling fee to be moved to a future class date. This policy stems from the the fact that the venue for our classes requires us to commit an attendee count 7 days before the class date. They charge us based on that committed number. When attendees that are committed do not attend at the last minute, the venue still charges us per the committed number. We are simply passing this cost on to the attendee should the condition apply.

3. If you notify us within 7 business days of the class that you need to cancel and do not want to reschedule, you do not need to pay the rescheduling fee, but you do forfeit the price of the class.
