Race and the Labor Movement TownHall
What: Social Justice has been a core priority of our Labor Movement. Community and Labor organizers work hand in hand every day to confront issues that are affecting people of color, women and LGBTQ working class members of our community. In light of the growing movement fueled by young leaders and activists for racial and economic equality, the AFL-CIO, its affiliate unions and constituency groups are working with community groups towards achieving shared goals.
This program, will include a reception, panel discussion followed by a town hall discussion. In addition, various local organizations will be present to promote their campaigns. It is an event you don't want to miss!
Who Should Come: Anyone who is working towards building and growing the progressive movement and fighting for social and economic justice is invited. If you are a labor or community organizer, progressive student/youth activist group, nonprofit/union front-line staff, or faith group member or leader, you should most definitely come.
