Cobb Christmas Annual Sponsor Appreciation Gala and Fundraiser
Cobb Christmas, Inc. is a non-profit, all volunteer organization that assists the low-income families of Cobb County during the Christmas season. The program was started in 1963 by the Cobb County Emergency Aid Association, which was the original name of the current Center for Family Resources. In 1980 the program was incorporated as Cobb Christmas, Inc. a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization. Because we are all volunteers, approximately 95% of your dollar goes to the children.
Families seeking assistance for eligibility are screened each year, must be residents of Cobb County, meet low-income requirements, and have dependent children eighteen years or younger living in the household. Cobb Christmas coordinates with other programs to prevent duplication of services. Those who qualify are given an appointment to pick up their gifts of food and new toys at the Cobb Christmas distribution in December. The distribution is handled by nearly five hundred volunteers who sort food, toys, and select and pack the gifts. Each child receives several age appropriate gifts.
WE NEED YOUR HELP NOW! There are approximately 17,000 children living in poverty in Cobb County. We need your help in securing additional funding so we can help all the children that need us. Toys for pre-teens and age appropriate items for teenagers are most critical. Please give personally as well as through your office, civic or religious group.
