Heroes Comic Book and Fantasy Art Expo
Location: Opposed to the standard banquet hall locations of other conventions, we are partnering with the Joliet Area Historical Museum. Three floors of pre-existing displays provide a unique, enticing, and visually stimulating backdrop for vendors and patrons alike.
Attractions: Intermingled among the Museum's displays are comic book artists, comic book displays with supplemental information, interactive art stations for children and families, and games for children.
Intent: Our goal is three fold. First, to offer an old-school venue where comic books and comic book artists occupy the spotlight of the event; a concept which has arguably been lost on today's mega-style conventions. Second, to attract and educate children on the history of comics. Third, to offer an affordable attraction for families.
We offer presentations the on history and creation of comic books. Presenters include Graham Cracker Comics and The Chicago International School of Comics.
Comic book artists and vendors will be on hand.
For Children and families:
21 of the worst comic books super villains are hiding in the Joliet Area Historical Museum's display. Receive one free prize drawing ticket for your correct game card. Find them all and bring out the HERO in yourself!!!!!
Visit our interactive Artist of Tomorrow Drawing Booth where children are invited to paint and draw under the guidance of selected guest artists, and gain a firsthand perspective as to how the artist works and creates. You never know if one of the artists at the expo will stop by and give you a few pointers! Hosted by Blick Art Materials.
Stakes are high the players of the HeroClix tournaments on both Saturday and Sunday. Bring the best you got and walk away with a one of a kind award that will show your fellow player where you stand in the world of HeroClix. Hosted by Graham Crackers Comics.
