Hike to Manitoga's View Spots to the Hudson- Hudson River Valley Ramble
Take a 1-1/2 hr. / 1.5 mile hike of Manitoga's woodland trails created by midcentury industrial designer Russel Wright on the site of an abandoned granite quarry in Garrison NY. This moderate hike will feature 4 signature "view spots" and will be led by Manitoga Landscape Manager, Emily Phillips. Wright called these framed views 'osios' from native Algonquin and intended them as dramatic moments within the landscape. You will visit Boulder Osio, Mossy Overlook, Lost Pond Osio and Chestnut Oak Osio with framed views of the Bear Mountain Bridge, West Point, Storm King Mountain and the Hudson River north to Newburgh-Beacon Bridge.
Hike is limited to 12 people. Advance reservations are required and can be purchased through BrownPaperTickets.com.
This hike is held as a part of the Hudson River Valley Ramble.
