Cynthia Carr & The Carrtunes - Benefit For the Sebastiani Theatre
A night of your favorite Carrtunes music, in support of Sonoma's favorite theatre! The Sebastiani is a vital part of what makes Sonoma special, and it needs our help.  Please join us in this beautiful venue, and join us in helping to keep The Sebastiani open and thriving as the cultural heart of Sonoma Valley.

The Carrtunes have been making beautiful music in The Valley of the Moon for thirty years. Meet the band members . . .

CYNTHIA CARR - Born into a family of singers and musicians, Cynthia was seventeen when she played her first solo gig, and not much older when she formed California Bloodlines with Patrick McGrath and Mollie Horgan in 1975. Steeped in the traditions of singers like Linda Ronstadt, Judy Collins and The Andrews Sisters, Cynthia's unique vocal styling combines emotional warmth with the sheer joy of singing to create an entertainment experience not to be missed.

Calling Sonoma County home for the past forty years, Cynthia has spent thirty of those as leader of The Carrtunes; a talented group of friends and musicians known for their extraordinary harmonies, innovative arrangements, and absolute love of playing together.  Along the way Carr has been featured in shows like Jim DePriest's "The Music of Harry Chapin", and Amanda Kreglow's "Sophisticated and Silver" at The Wells Fargo Center.

An avid champion of the arts (she has volunteered as musician's liaison at the Strawberry Music Festival for 28 years), Cynthia is thrilled to be supporting the Sebastiani Theatre with this one-time-only benefit concert.

SANDI EVERETT  Generations of Sonoma Valley elementary students were lucky to have Mrs. Everett as their teacher, and The Carrtunes are lucky to have her as their resident torch singer.  A longtime member of the St. Andrew Sisters church choir, Sandi brings the group tunes that make us sway, and a voice that makes us swoon. One of her first and fondest memories of the Sebastiani Theater was back in 1978, watching a production of the Nutcracker and enjoying her daughter's debut as a "bon-bon".

CARYN PRINCE  From rousing gospels to Bob Dylan ballads, Caryn's crystal harmonies and soulful leads are guaranteed to inspire as well as entertain.  A Sonoma Valley resident since 1977, she has performed in musical theatre, choirs, small ensembles, and sings regularly at St. Andrew Church.  Joining The Carrtunes in 2012, in addition to singing Caryn plays guitar, ukulele, percussion, and does a pretty fine chicken imitation!  She is honored to be playing in and supporting the wonderful and historic Sebastiani Theater, a venue she cherishes as a cultural hub for the community.

DOUG BATES  A lifelong musician, Doug's eclectic catalog of musical experience is a perfect match for The Carrtunes eclectic songbook.  He has played with Yo-YoMa, Judy Collins, Dave Grushin, Yes, Nadja Salerno-Sonnenbert, Midori, and Dan Hicks and his Hot Licks.  Not to mention The Princeton Symphony, the Delaware Symphony, and a 20 year stint with The Santa Rosa Symphony.

With a Masters in trombone performance, Doug's beautiful brass expressions are the perfect complement to The Carrtunes vocal blend.  Recently expanding his musical bandwidth with harmonica, recorder and percussion, Doug brings new layers of depth and feeling to the bands signature sound, and is grateful to be able to play in support of The Sebastiani Theater, a vital cultural and entertainment resource that he genuinely treasures.

MARK MULCAHY  When he isn't singing stirring leads for The Carrtunes, (Until I Gain Control Again by Rodney Crowell is one of his favorites, and Mark's version is a show stopper), Mulcahy is an award-winning retail consultant, educator and organic advocate. His hands-on, interactive and thought-provoking Roots & Relationships seminars teach retailers and consumers how to have a new, fun, fresh relationship with their produce, by diving into the unique legacy of food, as well as the connection with mind, body and spirit. Mark's infectious energy and humor permeates everything he does, and he is unabashed in his enthusiastic support of The Sebastiani Theatre.

ED DAVIS  Perhaps the happiest bass player on the planet, Ed considers himself blessed to have stood behind The Carrtunes for three decades, enjoying and helping to shape their distinctive sound.  Widely known as "The Ceiling Tile Guy" (two and a half million views on his company, Ceilume's, YouTube channel), Davis's first "performance" at The Sebastiani Theater was running lights for a Sonoma State Hospital talent show in 1971. A longtime Sebastiani patron and supporter, he is thrilled to be coming back to this beautiful theatre, this time on the stage!
