Memoir Workshop: Scene and Sequel
Whether you're writing fiction or creative nonfiction, your building blocks are scenes. In this workshop, you will work on creating and revising scenes that capture the reader's interest.
In this workshop, we will focus on writing scenes and sequels (i.e., the narrative section following the scene). We will have in-class writing exercises and critiques of participants' works-in-progress. We will also examine scene/sequel combinations in The Glass Castle, by Jeannette Walls. Open to beginners and experienced writers.
Six Wednesdays, 22 July-26 August, 7-9 pm Reserve your place! Free parking for this event in the lot across the street.
The workshop will be led by Barbara Morrison, who writes under the name B. Morrison. She is the author of a memoir, Innocent: Confessions of a Welfare Mother, and two poetry collections, Terrarium and Here at Least. Barbara's award-winning work has been published in anthologies and magazines. For more information, visit her website and blog at http://bmorrison.com/
