Salad Bowl 2015
The Salad Bowl is THE big fund-raising event at Pottery Northwest.
Did you know that the Beatles came to Seattle in 1966 so they could play the opening ceremony of Pottery Northwest? It's true, we swear! In anticipation of the 50th anniversary of this historic event, we've decided to give our 2015 Salad Bowl a Beatles theme. Beatles music, bowls with illustrations of Beatles songs, mop-tops, Beatles salad, you name it! We've enlisted the residents to conjure spirits and bring the band back together for one final performance. Not to be missed! Funds raised during Salad Bowl support a wide variety of free events through the year such as our exhibitions and lecture series. The Salad Bowl has also allowed us to eliminate studio fees and offer a materials and firing stipend to our residents. This year we'll be making a big push for the Wally Fund to support our resident artist project grant in perpetuity. A ticket gets you in the door and allows you to choose from over 300 bowls that are hand-made and hand painted by our resident artists. We'll also provide a scrumptious array of dinner salads to fill that bowl. As the evening begins you'll have the chance to bid on beautiful art work in our silent auction or purchase work from our resident's gallery. After dinner we will have a live auction that will include platters painted by Northwest artists from the ceramic field and beyond. We'll also be selling tickets to a raffle for a $250 PNW credit and a sunset happy hour cruise on the famous yacht, Slo Dance.
