"Mandela" Celebrate Mandelas 25th anniversary visit to NY. Mandela is a short play about the many pivotal moments in Mandela's life after he became involved with the ANC. The play also highlights some of the struggles of Winnie Mandela and some the ANC prisoners. The play shows difficult moments of Mandela's life like the hard physical labor he had to perform, his loneliness in solitary confinement and the harsh treatment he endured by Warder Van Rensburg while in prison. There are also lighter moments with dancing, singing and humor. The performance also includes the final victory of his life once he was released from prison and his triumphant win as South Africa's first black president. Many scenes are enhanced with a moving score, lighting, visual and sound effects.
The performance is about 1 hour and 15 minutes long.
