Do You Pray or Prey? (DC Black Theatre Festival)
Do You Pray or Prey? is the story of three prominent religious figures of the fictional town of Eden, Mississippi. There's the Leeves Siblings who are praised as "The Reigning Voices of the New Age Gospel,"and "Eden's Native Son" Rev Roman Devereaux, who's the most sought out mega-preacher in all of Eden,Mississippi. But even "The Reigning Voices" have secrets. And "Eden's Native Son" is far from perfect. Do You Pray or Prey? is a true testament to the humanistic tendencies that even those called by God can't ignore. Although this is a fictional story, it still brings to mind a reoccurring theme when it comes to your faith, "Beware of who you worship with."
