The Miracle of the Tortilla Steamer
A phantasmagoria of despair and redemption, our protagonist finds herself alone, grief stricken and not in an optimal financial situation after the death of her mother. Her desolate drifting takes her from Hermosillo, Sonora, Mexico to the heart of the gay district of San Francisco, California. She encounters humiliation and heartache at merciless automated teller machines, Wasteland on Haight Street and in the waters of Kino Bay. Ultimately a quirky Mexican restaurant with its paper mache skeletons, beauty pageant loving waiters and tow truck driving cooks save her life. ¡Viva la Vida!
The Miracle of the Tortilla Steamer written and performed by Jennifer Proctor directed by David Ford and Kathy Stefano produced by Fofi and Mimi Productions
Special acknowledgements to Rhodessa Jones, Kathy Stefano and Liam O'Brien for their ongoing support and input during the development of this show.
