Birding Walk and Talk "Look, Listen and Bird"
Sugarloaf's varied habitats equal a diversity of colorful and fascinating birds. "Was that a 'blue' jay"? "Who's that soaring above the meadow?" Beginning and experienced birders are welcome on this easy walk, including families with children. Wear good walking shoes, bring water, a snack, sun protection, binoculars and a birding field guide, if you have them. And don't forget your eyes, ears and curiosity! We will practice ID skills - especially song awareness - while learning about the lifestyles and seasonal patterns of local resident and migratory birds. We will have some extra binoculars if you need them. Leaders: Carolyn Greene has lead bird hikes and done bird research and counts all over California. High School Student Will Anderson has an amazing knowledge of Sonoma County Birds. No charge for hike.
