Overcoming Anxiety: A Natural Approach
This yoga therapy clinic is intended to provide tools for people suffering from chronic stress, anxiety, Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD), Panic Attacks or Panic Disorder, and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). In this public clinic, special care will be given to insure this is a comfortable, personal experience. To accommodate for those who are uncomfortable in social situations, there will be no group work or public speaking involved. We are open to making arrangements to allow a spouse, family member, or close friend attend the clinic with you if you feel you need the additional support (if this is the case, please contact us at oanxyogaclinic@gmail.com to make arrangements prior to registering for the clinic). This series will be held over an 8 week period in July through August of 2015. The Spring 2015 clinic will be held in Austin, Texas, at The Center Spot (213 N Loop Blvd, Austin, TX 78751).


Explore many effective self-healing modalities aimed to empower you to regain control over your own inner peace. Combining experiential exercises with spoken lectures and visual presentations, we will learn breathwork, gentle movement, and meditation techniques specifically designed to help break the psychological, emotional, and physiological cycles that keep you in a state of disharmony. Our first class will offer valuable information about what happens in your body while experiencing anxiety, along with simple tools to de-escalate the anxiety response and induce relaxation. Each session will offer an asana (movement) sequence along with calming breathwork and an extended guided meditation & relaxation exercise called Yoga Nidra. Sessions will also include in-depth education from our well trained faculty as well as guest lectures from experienced experts in their chosen fields.


Topics covered will include: traditional yoga practices, pranayama (breathwork), meditation & Yoga Nidra, Ayurveda, alternative medicine, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) techniques, nutrition, herbal remedies, aromatherapy, acupressure, affirmation, and more. Special attention will also be given to techniques for de-escalating panic attacks and for reducing sleep disturbances and insomnia.
