The Asheville Area Arts Councils First Annual Design and Marketing Symposium
The Asheville Area Arts Council's first annual Design and Marketing Symposium will target arts based businesses and students looking to gain understanding of technology based design and marketing tools to support a thriving business. On June 19th at The AB Tech Enka Campus, attendees will have the opportunity to choose 3 of the 4 classes being offered and will be provided lunch as well. Major topics will cover image manipulation, using digital media, branding, reaching target market powerfully, marketing online, creating marketing materials with digital media, and the overall benefits of technology, cloud tools, and the internet for your arts based business.

Birds Eye facilitator, Jodi Rhoden, is the owner and founder of Short Street Cakes, an all-natural, Southern-style specialty cake business in Asheville. Started as a home kitchen operation, Short Street now employs nine bakers and provides rental kitchen space for other local food businesses.
Jodi is an author and teacher on the subjects of Southern food and culture. With experience in the community food security movement, she also brings a unique social justice perspective to her work with small-scale food entrepreneurs.
