Make Cheese on the McKenzie River
Roll up your sleeves and jump into summer food crafting fun with a home cheesemaking class on July 7th at the Community Room at the Leaburg Fire Station. Class will be lead by cheesemaking teacher Louella Hill, author of the recently published book on home cheesemaking, Kitchen Creamery. In class, we'll crack the code for how to transform milk into cloud-like ricotta as well as gooey delicious mold-covered Brie. We'll talk about rennet, key supplies and how to age your cheeses. In class we'll enjoy the just-made ricotta as well as other cheese bites along with fresh bread. All participants take home one mini Brie in-process to age for several weeks in their fridge.
DATE: Tuesday, July 7th, 2015
TIME: Class runs from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m.
LOCATION: Community Room at the Leaburg Fire Station
TICKET: $40 or $70 with a signed copy of Kitchen Creamery (Louella's just-published book).
