Baxter Academy's "Songs of Change" Concert & Project Event
This year, Baxter Academy's tenth grade humanities class studied major social movements through the lens of music and literature. Using music to convey the stories of our past and promote awareness of contemporary social issues, students have created digital media projects to show music's role as both an agent and record of change in America. Studying history through a musical perspective allows us to draw connections to present day challenges and gain a deeper understanding of social change and its essential influences. Music has an ability to capture and express determination in modern American communities, continuing to impact and establish social change within our society.
