Sexy Sober Carnival
On May 23rd 2005, the Memorial Day weekend, East bay AA Intergroup is taking over American Steel Studios, does a Bangin-ist Carnival Party the recovering community has ever seen! American Steel studios are located at 1960 Mandela Parkway in Oakland, and here's what you'll experience at Sober Sexy Carnival. The doors open at 7 p.m., to give everybody a chance to get comfortable, get some food, and get ready to party! The speaker meeting starts at 8 p.m. and runs till 9 p.m., don't be a half hour intermission, and then "The Carnival" will start at 9:30 p.m. You'll experience 3 dance floors, two stages, 60 JS, a Caribbean carnival cafe featuring South American and Caribbean cuisine. Some of the hottest performers of the carnival weekend will appear at this event. It'll feature Alto California, one of the Bay Area's hottest funk salsa bands, also Oakland's own Samba Funk (Samba Troupe), will perform in full regalia with their drummers and dancers going full tilt! You'll also experience a live tango performance from Tango Revolution. This event will also feature interactive video laser lights, & costumes. If you don't have a costume, don't worry about it; t-shirts and mask will be on sale at the event. So get good and ready to get completely turned up to 10! We'll see you there!
Tickets are $10 in advance and $12 at the door. (The 8:00pm speaker meeting is free).
