Tim Connell is well-known to acoustic music fans as a top-tier, virtuoso mandolinist, touring internationally with Rio Con Brio, Mando Planet, Eric Skye and Mike Marshall's Ger Mandolin Orchestra.
Tim has also spent many years putting together a set of solo arrangements for the mandolin, from Brazilian choros to Irish jigs, from Beatles to Broadway. Tim couples these flights of virtuosic picking with heartfelt American songs, giving audiences an intimate window into his virtuosic yet emotional style and his deep passion for music and life.
About Tim:
A graduate of the prestigious New England Conservatory of Music and a virtuoso multi-instrumentalist with over twenty years professional performing experience, Tim is forging a unique and sophisticated new voice for the mandolin in his work with Mike Marshall's Ger Mandolin Orchestra and through his recordings and tours with Mando Planet, Rio Con Brio and Eric Skye. His in-depth study of Brazilian and Irish music, combined with his earlier years as a bassist, pianist and arranger have led Tim to synthesize a personal style on the mandolin which is harmonically advanced, rhythmically diverse and brimming over with sparkling ornamentation and romantic intensity.

Dave met and became friends with Tim at a number of music workshops over the past several years, and greatly enjoys playing with him when the opportunity arises. Dave and Russ have been playing together in duo, trio and quartet settings for the past seven years, up and down the Coastside.
For our evening house concert, Tim will play some solo, and also will be accompanied by Dave Schorr on bass, and Russ Haines on guitar. The songs will range from Brazilian choro to jazz, swing, blues, klezmer, pop tunes and who knows what else.
Please join us for this event at a beautiful private home in Montara. We will provide light refreshments to get things going; please bring some small food or beverage item to share at this community-oriented event.
