EVITA
Cambria Center for the Arts Theatre proudly presents Evita, a musical by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice, the first British musical to receive the Tony Award for Best Musical. The concept album was first released as a rock opera in 1976, three years before its Broadway debut. The story focuses on the life of Argentine political and spiritual leader Eva Duarte, the second wife of Argentine president Juan Perón as it follows Eva's repressive early life, her unconventional rise to power, her entrance into sainthood, and her untimely death, succumbing to cancer.

This production, directed by Randy Schwalbe and choreographed by Susan Hay, features a live orchestra and top talent locally and from the wider SLO county area including Allison King as Eva, Phil Edwards as Che, and Angelo Procopio as Perón, and Tara Brinkman as Perón's mistress.

Performances run from July 31 through August 23. Curtain is 7:30 PM on Fridays and Saturdays, 3 PM on Sundays. Tickets are $20 general admission, $15.00 Preview and groups of 10-(contact CCAT directly), $5 for students with ID. CCAT is located at 1350 Main St. in the heart of Cambria.
