Brief Biography

New York native Adam Boxer has over 25+ years of professional experience in the fine art field. In 1994, he co-founded Ubu Gallery in New York City (www.ubugallery.com), and the gallery continues to operate under his sole ownership as of today. Most recently, the gallery presented an exhibition of the historically significant, but particularly under-recognized, Hungarian-French artist, Judit Reigl, who is about to turn 92 and is represented in the collections of the all three of the major international art museums in New York City (MoMA, Metropolitan and Guggenheim). Ubu has presented more than 75 exhibitions of 20th Century avant-garde art. The gallery's focus on the groundbreaking and transformative art of its time, particularly historically important artists and "isms" that have not received appropriate critical attention, and its serious explorations of movements covered by few other galleries, have earned Ubu a worldwide reputation as a leading presence on the international cultural scene. Ubu's exhibitions have received extensive press coverage in The New York Times and in leading art and cultural publications ranging from Artforum and Art in America to The New Yorker and Vanity Fair, as well as international articles and mentions in Vogue, the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung and Die Welt, among others. Ubu Gallery participates in many of the most prestigious international art fairs in the world, including the annual Paris contemporary art fair  FIAC  as well as the Frieze Masters art fair in London. Ubu Gallery also participated in Art Basel in Basel, Switzerland, for ten years. Adam's particular expertise and knowledge of the artists Ubu exhibits is frequently sought by art institutions, major collectors and auction houses, for whom he advises on a regular basis.
